North Branch Partnering Event – Earth Day Planting
Saturday, April 20th, 10am-1pm, Edgewater Park, Mount Vernon
Celebrate Earth Day with the Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group and partner with the North Branch by restoring the banks of the Skagit River in downtown Mount Vernon!

South Park Bridge Construction Tour – NEW DATE AND TIME
Thursday, April 25th, 4-5pm
Get a guided tour of the South Park Bridge construction site on Thursday, April 25th, at 4pm! This tour is open to YMF members, Seattle University students, and University of Washington students. The tour will be followed by happy hour in South Park with our tour guide: Jill Marilley, Senior Construction Manager at HDR Inc.

Rebuilding Together Event

The Seattle Section’s Rebuilding Together event is set for Saturday, April 27th! Every year, ASCE volunteers donate their time to Rebuilding Together to make sure their neighbors live in a safe and healthy home.

May Networking in Seattle
Tuesday, May 7th, 5:30-7:30pm @ Tommy Gun (1703 E Olive Way, Seattle)
Come out to the Seattle monthly YMF happy hour and networking event at Tommy Gun in Capitol Hill to socialize, network, and spend quality time chatting with fellow ASCE younger members. As always, appetizers will be provided and drinks are on you. Happy hour at Tommy Gun runs until 7pm!

Engineering Rocks! K-12 Outreach
Saturday, May 11th, 12-4pm, Southcenter Mall
Join us for our third annual engineering day at the Southcenter Mall. We have fun new activities this year and are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to work with kids (grades K-5) to show them how much engineering rocks! We need volunteers for two shifts, 12:00-2:00pm and 2:00-4:00pm. We also need a few people from the first shift to come about an hour early for setup and others to stick around after the second shift for clean-up. Please let us know if you would be available for setup or clean-up. We’ll have more information about the activities and logistics as we get closer to the event.

North Branch Partnering Event – Plant Nursery Work Day

National Steel Bridge – YMF Event

Seattle Science Expo
Saturday, June 8th, 10am-6pm
Save the date for the Seattle Science Expo on Saturday, June 8th! We are teaming up with Structural Engineers Association of Washington (SEAW) and Magnusson Klemencic Associates (MKA) to help kids build structural towers or domes and then test them on shake tables to see how well they would survive an earthquake.
We will tentatively have 6 shifts available starting at 9:30am with each shift lasting approximately 1.5 hours. Additional details will be in upcoming announcements.
